This feels like ancient history. I hope it gets fair treatment. Most important, I am glad to see D Day made something of himself.

Agreed. I’m digging on the tone of this thing especially. There’s no need for Oliver Stone-sized hyperbole at this point (that might have been useful, oh, around eight years ago). Approaching this topic with a little bit of levity is, I’m nearly ashamed to say, refreshing.
On a personal note: In the two years following the entire debacle, I literally ate up every book I could find on the topic. I’ve forgotten most of the details by now, but for a while I could quote you parts of the dissenting opinions in Bush v. Gore. Consequently, I was pretty pissed off most of the time.
The good news is, I’m filled with less rage now. I guess what I’m saying is, the Bush years haven’t been so bad. It all worked out for the best. So what if more Floridians intended to vote for the other guy? Sometimes we just have to trust our Supreme Court to help us make the right call.
