Luckily for me today does not feel like “a Monday”.  Something about changing up my regular routine that helps change my perspective.  I am always amazed by how much my perspective on things effects how things work out.

This is an interesting video.  It will disapoint a lot of people if they have to take the “alien intervention” theory out as an explanation for Stonehenge.

Great use of a sunny afternoon.  Right now there is lots of swinging and just a little contact.  But when we get contact there is much JOY!

Before there are any calls to PETA, this is not a Vick moment.  They are just playing.

It is fun watching triplet 2 year olds take turns with an ICEE.  I should have done this with video because it is even more entertaining to hear the chorus of “Me, Me, Me” from the two that are not on the straw.
$1.19 bought a lot of joy!

This feels like ancient history.  I hope it gets fair treatment.  Most important, I am glad to see D Day made something of himself.

didyouevernotice: RECOUNT Movie Trailer This looks like it could be really good. Agreed. I’m digging on the tone of this thing especially. There’s no need for Oliver Stone-sized hyperbole at this point (that might have been useful, oh, around eight years ago). Approaching this topic with a little bit of levity is, I’m nearly ashamed to say, refreshing. On a personal note: In the two years following the entire debacle, I literally ate up every book I could find on the topic. I’ve forgotten most of the details by now, but for a while I could quote you parts of the dissenting opinions in Bush v. Gore. Consequently, I was pretty pissed off most of the time. The good news is, I’m filled with less rage now. I guess what I’m saying is, the Bush years haven’t been so bad. It all worked out for the best. So what if more Floridians intended to vote for the other guy? Sometimes we just have to trust our Supreme Court to help us make the right call.

Flex Pets.  Rent a dog?  I think part of our problems today is people trying to have it all so they fake parts of it.  The quality of the relationship with a dog is not simply the walk in the park.

I also wonder what the quality of life is like for the “dog escorts”.  Getting walked all day by different “johns” has to get a little boring.

Company offers part-time pets for busy people

If you live in a small place in a big city and you work long hours, owning a dog is pretty much impossible. But a company called Flex Pets thinks it has the solution for those pet lovers who miss owning their own critter.

JESUS, WHERE TO BEGIN: Hillary Clinton’s pick to win horse racing’s Kentucky Derby, Eight Belles — the only female horse in the race — finished second, broke both front ankles, and subsequently was put to death on the track. The first place horse was Big Brown. Go nuts.

This is hilarious!  Hopefully there will be an entry in the Preakness with a name like War Hero, Pale Face or Ancient Artifact that will challenge Big Brown down the stretch and let us know how this thing plays out in November.

I have been enjoying the sunsets lately.  As the weather has been near perfect on many days, we have been spending the afternoon into the evening in the backyard.

Lawnmower rides with Gan and Paw Paw are great.  Even with the high price of gas it is still a cheap good time.  The boys kept Gan and Paw Paw busy all weekend.

ellebelle: I saw this show once about a couple with a whole gaggle of children. Seriously, there were children everywhere and there was always someone crying. This couple would cart the children somewhere and there would inevitably be some sort of dismay and unhappiness amongst the short people but the adults would just keep on going. At some point, after some man handling of the crying children, the husband and wife look at the camera and say, “We’re doing this for the memories.” Now I am all for memories but shouldn’t the memories at least be good. I want my boys to look back on their childhood with fondness. I want their memories to resemble this photo…warm, sunny, joyful and slightly out of focus.    I agree except for the “slightly out of focus”.  I want the kids to remember the good stuff (family) crisp and clear.  We’ve done a few of the big ticket events for memories but the best stuff usually ends up being the simpler stuff.  Lawn mower rides, bubbles and a backyard baby pool can beat most events and create some great memories.

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

Jack (Edward Norton) in Fight Club

I like this quote.  I was channel surfing last night and flipped over just in time to catch this quote.  It almost let it keep me up much later.
